How we calculate your ATS score
Your ATS score updates live as you edit — and it's built to behave like a real recruiter scanner. The core idea: we reward real, recruiter-ready content, not just filled-in boxes. Here are the five things we look at.
Content quality
30% of your scoreThe biggest factor. We read your bullet points and reward writing that sounds like real achievements — not vague job descriptions.
- Bullets that start with a strong action verb (Led, Built, Shipped…)
- Measurable results — numbers, %, ₹/$ amounts, time saved
- Specific, role-relevant detail instead of filler
Keyword match
25% of your scoreReal scanners look for role keywords. We check that the keywords for your field actually appear in your experience and summary — where they count — not just dumped in a skills list.
- Industry-relevant terms used naturally in your content
- Keywords that match the kind of role you're targeting
- If you paste a job description, we match against that too
Completeness
20% of your scoreThe sections recruiters expect — and they have to actually be filled in. A section that exists but is empty earns nothing.
- A meaningful professional summary
- Work experience with real bullet points, plus education
- A solid set of relevant skills
Experience impact
15% of your scoreYour work history is what recruiters scrutinise most. We score how strong and complete your experience entries are.
- Roles with clear start / end dates
- Detailed, results-driven bullet points
- Enough depth to tell your story (not a one-liner)
Formatting & readability
10% of your scoreA clean, parseable layout with the contact details an ATS needs, and concise bullets a human can skim.
- Name, email, phone, title and a LinkedIn / portfolio link
- Concise bullets — not walls of text
- No weak filler like “responsible for” or “worked on”
What pulls your score down
We never give points for a section that just exists. These cost you points:
- Sections you added but left blank (empty “Untitled” cards)
- Leftover AI placeholders like [feature] or [X]% you didn't replace
- Missing education or no real work experience
- Vague bullets with no action verbs or measurable results
